Our Driving Concern: Transportation Safety Training for the Workplace
Motor vehicle crashes involving employees are devastating on a personal level. They also cause a significant financial burden on employers. Approximately half of all crash-related injuries result in employees missing time from work. This can lead to increased costs in health insurance, workers’ compensation, liability claims and lost productivity.

Older Drivers in the Workplace: Supporting Safe Mobility and Safer Driving
Thursday, Dec. 3 (2:30-3 p.m. ET)
As the workforce continues to age, employers have an important opportunity to support safe driving habits among older employees who drive for work or commute to and from the workplace. During this session, we will provide a national perspective on older driver safety, with practical strategies employers can use to support employees, address changing driving needs and promote safe driving at every age. Ohio’s older driver safety efforts, including initiatives within the state’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan, will be highlighted as examples that can inform older driver safety efforts across the country. Attendees will leave with practical information and resources they can consider implementing within their own organizations and states.
Presenter: Kimberly Schwind, assistant director & training programs administrator, Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
